Vendredi 19 Juin 2009 at 4:02 pm. Balises utilisées: dynacom, synergyIn this week's post we are going to take a look at Synergy, how to access it and what are its core interface elements.
What is Synergy?
Synergy is a tool developed by Dynacom that allows easy customization of Dynacom Accounting. Synergy is a flexible platform that offers an interface that looks like Microsoft Visual Basic and uses the VBScript programming language.
Here's what Synergy looks like:

How do you access it?
Synergy is accessible through Dynacom Accounting via the Customization \ Advanced customizations \ Open the Designer menu or with the help of the Ctrl+F10 shortcut.
The interface
The interface is made of six different parts. Each part has its own use that we will look at next.
The menu bar and the toolbar:
The menu bar and the toolbar are used to access functionalities within Synergy.
The tasks pane:
![]() |
The tasks pane shows wizards and other functions based on the current context. If you are currently editing a screen, the wizards will be for creating controls, add new screens, configure actions, etc. |
The tool box:
![]() |
The tool box contains controls that can be used to display or change data in reports and screens and will vary depending on the context. |
The design area:
![]() |
The design area is where you can transform your screens, reports and tables to meet your needs. It allows moving, deleting and adding new controls to screens or reports and adding, modifying and deleting customized fields from tables in data objects. |
Company objects:
![]() |
Company objects is a tree showing objects ordered by category. By default, Dynacom Accounting comes with system data objects that you cannot delete. But you can add new tables, new fields to existing tables, new screens and reports. When you create a screen or report, Synergy will ask you to provide a category where you would like your object to be placed. You can create your own or use existing ones, this way it is simple to locate your customizations. Please note that system objects may be found in more that one category but your customizations may only be located under one. |
Advanced properties:
![]() |
When selecting an object in the design area like a text box in a screen, a label in a report or the screen itself, Synergy will list a series of properties in this section. It allows you to modify the element's properties to better suit your needs. You can also create actions based on Dynacom Accounting events like when a screen opens or a user clicks on a button. |
Don't hesitate to post your questions on the forum and comment this post.
